"You're making things up!"
"No, I swear, this is how it is!"

Why is the weather getting warmer? Was "everything better in the past"? Why are there rich people and poor people? The world is full of mysteries and problems, and everyone has an opinion about it—your parents heard something on TV, your friend found something on the internet, your buddies listen to TikTok influencers, your uncle read something in his Telegram conspiracy group... How do you know what's made up and what's true? Is there even such a thing as truth? How much fiction is at play when we try to understand the world? How much imagination do we need to be happy? When is fantasizing useful, and what does "truth" mean to you?

ComicInvasionBerlin, Berlin’s big comics festival, is organizing its own comic contest again in 2025. Selected comics will be exhibited at the festival on May 3+4 2025 and recognized in an awards ceremony, presented digitally on our homepage, and published in a book! The prizes include non-cash prizes, workshops and—as the main prize for adult participants—mentoring from professional comic creators with the goal of starting a larger comic project and thus possibly apply for the comics grant from the Berlin Senate Department for Culture.
